One of the best hiking trails to reach Rigi Kulm or Mount Rigi is the Weggis – Rigi-Kaltbad trail. But at the beginning of the 19th century most guests who went up to Mount Rigi used this trail by horsebackriding or using special Rigi carriers. If you have no intention to hike there is a cable car operating from Weggis to Rigi-Kaltbad.
Rigi-Kaltbad itself is actually a good area for walking as it is a little bit flat but definitely with fantastic panoramic views. There are several hotels and restaurants in the area so no need to worry about food and accommodation. Rigi-Kaltbad has a small sport kiosk, a spacious Minigolf-Course, a children’s adventure playground called Rigiland, and a “Kneipp” facility where you can revive your body after an enjoyable hike.
